The Government has announced a major shake-up in the KiwiSaver default provider appointments with five providers not being reappointed.
There are currently nine default providers but this shrinks to six providers under a new seven-year contract with the government.
People are allocated to a default KiwiSaver fund when they are automatically enrolled through starting a new job and don t choose their own fund.
The newly appointed providers are Bank of New Zealand, Booster, BT Funds Management (Westpac), Kiwi Wealth, Simplicity and Smartshares (NZX).

A bride and groom to be from the US have demanded guests follow one major rule if they are to attend their wedding, and it led to one groomsman walking out.
Columbus couple Stephanie Davis and Christian Oliver have said they will make no exception no matter how important the guest is.
The couple are requiring all of their guests to get vaccinated against Covid-19. I would not feel safe knowing that somebody at my wedding came and made other people very, very ill, said Davis.

Whanganui writer Airini Beautrais has won New Zealand s biggest writing prize.
Beautrais was announced the winner of the $57,000 Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction at the 2021 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards in Auckland on Wednesday night.
